| Our web-based streaming video format slide show productions depend upon a browser plug-in helper
being added from Photodex.com's web site. When you go to the page
which displays our slide show, you may experience a couple of delays
and/or problems. 1. The Photodex viewer plug-in has to download
and install so your browser can display the slide show. Your PC's
operating system MAY have to be given permission to allow this
download and installation to happen.
2. If you are running a software firewall, you MAY have to give
this firewall permission to go to the Photodex web site in order to
be able to download this viewer application plug-in.
3. If you are running an AntiVirus
application such as Norton AntiVirus, you may also have to give it
permission to download the plug-in.
4. After you've finally got the Photodex
plug-in installed, you may have to restart the slide show.
5. It would be a good thing if you had the latest Internet
Explorer browser installed, with its updates. Very old browsers may
not work.
6. Once the opening scene shows up,
left-click on the image in the display screen with your mouse, and the slide show will
commence to automatically advance to the next slide in order. You
can control the presentation with the controls located at the bottom
of the viewer.
These Kodachrome slides are over 44 years
old, taken sometime during the 2nd half of 1961 and the first 4 months of
1962 in Izmir, Turkey, and show the Agora, the Culture Park, and
various scenery around Izmir and where I'd lived along Mithatpasha
Guzelyali. Some of the slides have contracted a bit of growth over
the years (mainly during my tour of duty on Okinawa), which
accounts for some of the black dots you'll see in some of the
photos. As time permits, I'll remove these growths in order to
present better photos.
