USS J. Franklin Bell

| A group of Navy Amphibious
personnel and their LCP's (Landing Craft Personnel) Boats were assigned
to the troop ship USS J. Franklin Bell at San Francisco. After the
landing at Attu was complete and all troops and supplies were landed we
stayed with the army and provided transportation for them as the battle
continued. We were a group of sailors who were unassigned and we dressed
and looked like the soldiers of the 7th. Maybe the Ship/Unit should be
changed to "US Navy Landing Craft Support, Unnassigned! |
