Kober and I met at Parris Island Boot Camp early in 1945 and stayed together from Boot Camp until we got discharged. We were always best buddies. It's ironic that we ended up with our bunks next to each other on Attu. Mr. Kober Seippel is shown on the left in these photos, and that's me, Rene (Frenchy) Thibault, on the right. The top photo was taken on Attu around July of 1946. The bottom photo was taken on Camp Pendleton in August of 1996.
