My Father Peirce Clasen was on Shemya from 1945 to 1946. He was the flight engineer on The Searchin Virgin. An air sea rescue plane. The other B-17H on Shemya was The Angel of Mercy. I'm trying to find anyone with info on these two particular planes. These were the 17's with the life boat hung below the forward fuselage. I've seen the photo of Tony Suarez in front of Searchin Virgin and the photo taken by Dan Lange but I can't tell which B-17H it is. Any new info etc. would be greatly appreciated.
