My father, Lieutenant Ralph S Beightol, was in the Signal Corps and was assigned to radar stations in the Aleutians during WWII.  He served with the 677th Signal AW Co at Fort Randall (Cold Bay??), the 736 Sign AW Co at Fort Glenn (Unmak) and the 707th Sig AW Co at Fort Richardson (Amchitka).  He was at Fort Randall from June 1943-May 1944, Fort Glenn from May-Sep 1944 and Fort Richardson from Sep 1944-Nov 1945.   

I have many pictures of a radar site which seems to be located on Sanak Island (fairly close to Cold Bay) but can find no information about any WWII connection.  And yet, the pictures unmistakably show Sanak geography and a military installation. 

Does anyone have any information about Sanak and a radar site on the island?

	Hello Kathy: My name is Arlene Gundersen, Administrator for the Pauloff Harbor Tribe, in Sand Point, Alaska in the Aleutians. We know the military was out on Sanak Island, but like you can't find information about it. The remains of the military site are there on the Island. We are looking for photos of the military site when the military was there. We are also trying to put together some history.
