I work on Kiska Island during the summers studying the large seabird colony there. Sometime in the early 1940's, rats were introduced to the island and now wreak havoc on the birds. If anyone who was present on Kiska form 1943-1946 that has anecdotes about the seabirds (especially at North Head at the harbour) could contact me, I would be most grateful. Cheers, Alex (least.auklet at gmail dot com |

| My uncle - Dean David Garrett was part of the invasion of the Aleutian Islands in 1942. He was part of the 11th AACS (Army Airways Communication System). He was there approx. 23 months, and I have lots of pictures I would be willing to share. Thank you! |

| I am a tug captain who delivered fuel to Alaska from 1985 to 2005. Included were Adak, Amchitka, Attu and Shemya. I have been collecting information about the area for many years with the idea of writing a series of articles. I would appreciate if any who served in the Aleutians during the period 1943 through the present would share information that they may recall about their experiences. This includes Attu, Shemya, Kiska, Amchitka and Adak. I’m looking for interesting anecdotes and stories. |

| My dad, Robert Lubinski served in Army on the Aleutian Islands-1942-44. I am astounded and honored to know this website exists. Unfortunately, my dad passed away in 1998. He too, would be honored to know this story has not been forgotten! Thank you so much! |

My dad commanded the USS Grunion which was declared missing July 30 1942. Last August we found a target almost a mile down north of Kiska that appears to be the Grunion. We are intending to return August 2007 to confirm that sighting and more importantly to try to determine what caused the loss. For details go to ussgrunion.com |

| My Dad was among those that landed on Kiska on 15 Aug 1943; I know very little of his service there. Since he is now deceased, the information that I am finding on this website is so exciting and interesting. Thank you for the time and effort you have put into this site. |

I love anything about the aleutians. I was stationed on Adak in 65-66. My father-in-law was on Dutch Harbor in WW2. |
