I spent a year at Murphy Dome, from 1976-77, and worked as a weapons controller in Ops. It was an experience that I often remember, and I hope to visit the site again.

Did 18 mos at Murphy Dome, 68-69. It was great to leave but in reality I have many great memories. I was admin spec in Electronics Section under Capt John J. Colletti, SMSgt Kamenicki and MSG Gillette. Great guys to work for, even when the chill factor was totally off our -140 degree chart. I guess the best memories would be the unbelievable scenery, the northern lights, and the countless wilflife.

I was a Radar Operator and stationed at Murphy Dome in 1956 (18 mounths) 55 to 57. When I first arrived at the site we only had one Radar Bubble and when I went back to the ZI, it was not a State at that time and we got overseas pay. I put a sign on the bullition board HUBBLE, HUBBLE, NOW WE HAVE A DOUBLE BUBBLE!!! STREIGHT ARROW shot a Bear with a 22 cal. and learned fast if he want to get away from a Bear RUN DOWNHILL!!! Good times in the SILVER DOLLAR in Fairbanks, sit on your parker,

I was assigned to Murphy's Dome from Jan 1960 - Feb 1961 as an Army RADAR operator. I would enjoy hearing from other Army and AF people who were also stationed on the Dome. It would very good to hear from my CO, Capt. Hook.
Thanks

I was stationed at Murphy Dome 70-71. I worked in CE as an electrician. Really enjoyed my stay and think about the Dome often. I was sorry to hear the site was gone.
