Ventura light bomber lands on Shemya. This navy plane
also played a very
important role in the Aleutian Campaign. It appears
that the top gunner is in his

Catalina on Shemya. This was not an offensive navy
plane, but served as
a long distance reconnaissance, U-boat patrol, and a
mine layer sea plane.

as path finders for our
bombers, and rescue operations for our down pilots.
