I started my tour at Shemya in October of 1966. I worked for HRB Singer, Inc. and supported the US Air Force mission for Wanda Bell, and Ball, Brass and one other aircraft. I left in December of 1967.

I was stationed on Shemya from Jan 76 to Jan 77. I was the Medic during that time. I was refred to as Big Jim & I often talk about Shemya to my friends. I'll be more than happy to send you some pictures that I took while I was there.

Many memories of my 12 month "sentence" of Sep 62-Sep 63. Good friends made under adverse conditions. Walked the beaches at night & crawled back to the composite building from the theater when windy. When departing I promised: Never Again!

Rick, good to see this part of the site. My Dad knew a guy by the name of "Bud" Hunter who worked for NW on Shemya, sometime after the war. I was also stationed on Shemya '68-'69 in the Air Force.

Rick: Sorry I haven't signed in sooner, but better late than never. You know I was there in the Control Tower July 1948 thru July 1949.
