1943 - 1944

#16. Warren Anders and an unknown in front of our tent in 43. The tents did serve the purpose, even though cold

#17. Joe Ransom in front of a navy plane. This was in 43.

#18. This man is unknown to me. If someone knows who he is, please let me know. I don't recognize the place.

#19.  I don't remember his name but it does give one the idea of what the place was like in 43.

#20.  One of our tents in 43. Only name I knew this man by was Big Joe.

#21. Don't know his name. Some of our living quarters in 43, summer. Note the jacket (in summer).

#22. We called him Red, because we jokingly accused him of being a commie.

#23.  Name unknown to me. Shows the rugged situation in 43. Adak looks unlike this today.

#24.  Part of our medics in summer of 43. I only remember the name of one, second from right, last name Baker.

#25. Adler on the left, me in the middle, and Warren Anders. We were all sent out to play soldier one day and when we got back our hut had been moved. The usual way of the Army doing things.

#26. This has to be 44 as the living quarters were better. I am on the far left. Warren Anders, second from right in back. Do not remember the names of the others.

#27. Joe Ransom on the right. The one on the left was a feisty little guy but I don't remember his name. The dispensary in in the background. One of our tents in the extreme right.
