I work for the seabee's (construction battalion). My father was a seabee during WWII and was stationed in the Alutions on his earliest assignment. Unfortunately he has passed on and taken with him the only existing record of his experience there. If any one has knowledge of the outfit he may have served with or any other thread I could follow in order to trace his WWII exploits, please e-mail me. Thank You
His name was William P Leary and I believe his rating was pipefitter.

Im researching my fathers WW2 service in the Aleutians. Most of the records which would tell me what Unit he served in were destroyed. My father was a Army intermediate speed radio operator. He arrived in the Aleutions 18 July 1941 and left 20 Jan 1944. His arrival was not long after the formation of the Alaska Defense Command. Are there any resources that would tell me what US Army units were sent to Alaska under this command. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My dad served in the Aleutain Islands sometime during '43-'45 with the Alaskan Defense Command. I believe hisunit was with the 111th, maybe the 117th Engineers (?) not sure. He was a buck Sergeant named Floyd W. Allen. His home was Park Springs, Texas. Sometime in '45, he was reassigned to a base in Virginia. Dad never said much about his tour. Have you anything on him? Thanks for all your effort.

I was wondering if anyone knew Donald Mc Collins, his last name maybe spelled differently. He was in Chignik, Alaska around 1947? This all I know of him.
